5 Martin Place: Base Building
The redevelopment of 5 Martin Place provides an extraordinary and complex construction.
The redevelopment of 5 Martin Place provides an extraordinary and complex construction of a cantilevered inverted ‘L’ shape building over the iconic, heritage-listed Commonwealth Bank ‘Money Box’ Building, to offer a 19-level, modernised premium-grade building that retains its distinctive features, including sandstone facades, marble lobbies and interconnecting staircases.
The building redevelopment comprises over 31,000 sqm of premium-grade office space and approximately 2,500 sqm of ground level retail space. The redevelopment provides a unique premium commercial offering, with large central atrium, large floor plates and prime CBD location in the heart of Martin Place. The building targeted a minimum 5 Star Green Star design rating and 5 Star NABERS rating. Law firm Ashurst (formerly Blake Dawson) is committed to a 10-year lease as the anchor tenant.
Cubic was engaged by Grocon to complete the base building internal fitout including; ceilings including metal pan; feature polished Stucco plaster finish; thermal soffit insulation; partitions and linings; fibrous plaster cladding to raked structural steel beams; speedpanel walls; vanity support frames; skirtings; FF&E; automatic sliding doors; timber framed glazed doors to amenities; lift lobby glazing and mirrors to amenities.
