Parramatta Justice Precinct: Sydney Administration Building

Parramatta Justice Precinct is located west of the CBD on the banks of the Parramatta River in New South Wales.

The design and construction of the Justice Precinct offered a range of new technologies that provided an environmentally sustainable development, both during and after completion.

Cubic was engaged to complete the integrated fitout of this project including the installation of all solid partitions, glazed partitions, doors and hardware and perforated aluminium ceilings throughout the 10-storey office building. The Parramatta Justice Precinct was completed in 9 months.

A stand-out feature of this project was the cantilevered pod structures. These were lined with a level 5 finish and toughened laminate glass with the use of prodema in the main atrium void. Prodema is typically referred to as a composite panel faced with a natural wood veneer and coated with a proprietary coating (this is based on synthetic resins and PVDF) which protects the panels from the effects of sunlight, chemical attack and the damage caused by atmospheric agents.

The Justice Administration building features an above ceiling, passive ‘chilled beam’ system with a perforated metal pan ceiling to cool the office levels. The Parramatta Justice Precinct was the first building in the industry to use perforated aluminium pans for the passive mechanical system.
