Optus Stadium, Perth

Optus Stadium, Perth won the award for the most beautiful sports stadium in the world at the 2019 Prix Versailles, for its innovation, creativity, reflection of local, natural and cultural heritage, and energy efficiency.

The stadium has an initial seating capacity of 60,000 seats, making it the third-largest stadium in Australia and is capable of hosting AFL, rugby, football (soccer), cricket and entertainment events. The stadium is a world-class venue and includes a ‘fans first’ approach to design and technology.

Cubic was engaged by Multiplex Engineering to complete the following scope of works: thermal soffit insulation package; internal glazing package; external kingspan cladding package; ceilings and partition package, including speedpanel; CFC cladding package; auto doors; mirrors package and entrance soffits feature ceilings package.

The stadium opened in time for the start of the 2018 AFL season in Perth.
