Parramatta Justice Precinct: Trials Court Building
The Parramatta project is one of the first Court buildings in Australia to provide 5 independent circulation systems that service the judicial, jury, public, custody and administrative areas.
The Parramatta Trials Court Building comprises 14,000m2 and houses 9 criminal courts, and is capable of accommodating multi-defendant and high security trials.
Cubic managed the interior fitout, in particular the raised access floors, all high acoustic solid partitions, glazing partitions, specialised suspended ceilings and wall finishes, the timber ceilings and wall panels. The standout features include the use of specially coloured anodised aluminium linear strip-wall panels which are located throughout the court rooms, the installation of fabricated polyurethane wall panels, Black Butt wall and ceiling panels using Big River Timbers products, and the acoustic wall panels.
Cubic used high-end acoustic materials to provide sound-proof enclosures throughout the space. Acoustic enclosures were a big factor in this project due to the privacy and confidentiality aspects required of the fitout.
